Wooden Garden Raised Grow Beds With Liner - FSC Treated Timber - Various Sizes

Grow more, earlier, and with far less effort. Our FSC treated timber raised beds warm up sooner in spring than open ground, drain freely, and never get compacted by footfall – so you can plant earlier and dig less. And because the bed is raised, there is far less bending and reaching. This version comes complete with a professional-grade liner included, which protects the timber, helps retain moisture in the compost and keeps soil where it belongs.

  • Plant earlier – soil in a raised bed warms up sooner than the ground.
  • Better drainage, no compaction – a must on clay or impoverished soil.
  • Less bending, less digging – easy access from all sides.
  • Professional-grade liner included – protects the timber and retains moisture.
  • Built to last – FSC timber, pressure treated with an eco-friendly preservative for up to 10 years of life.

What’s in the kit

  • 6" x 1" nominal thickness boards of selected quality FSC timber
  • 2" x 2" corner posts supporting every corner
  • Long-life screws – boards fix straight to the posts
  • Professional-grade liner, plus instructions
  • Flat-packed – assembles with a drill and screwdriver, typically 30–45 minutes with two people

Every corner is supported by a 2" x 2" post; the 6" x 1" boards screw directly to it. The liner fits inside the finished bed.

Sizes, growing area & compost needed

External size is the footprint of the bed. The internal growing area is roughly 5cm smaller in each direction (the thickness of the boards). Compost figures assume filling the bed close to the top – a useful shopping guide, not an exact science.

Assembly

Prepare or rotavate the ground and make sure it is flat – the bed sits about 1" (3cm) down into the earth. Assemble with a second person if possible, using a power drill and cordless screwdriver (not included): join the panels vertically, attach joining pieces on long sides, join the corners using the corner posts, fit the liner, then push the planter down onto the soil.

Before you order – please read

  • Raised beds arrive flat-packed and need assembling; all components, screws and instructions are inside one of the packs.
  • The timber is water pressure treated and can arrive wet – it dries out naturally at home.
  • Timber is not planed, so some fraying and chips can occur – it’s a working garden bed, not furniture.
  • Beds 6ft long and upwards come as separate boards joined with a joiner board (see diagram).
  • Larger beds arrive as separate parcels; screws and instructions are in one of them.
  • Prices include carriage to UK mainland only – please ring for a delivered price elsewhere, as weight and size can add carriage costs.

Complete your bed: our heavy duty bird netting keeps birds and rabbits off your crops, and our weed control membrane, sprayers and hand tools are all available in store.
